Overseas and Travel Considerations
Keep the following in mind if you will be traveling with your projector:
- Get a lightweight (ultralight) projector. Thanks to advancing technology, presentation projectors have become more portable than ever, conveniently weighing in around 2 to 11 lbs. They have footprints that are smaller than a laptop computer. Consider getting a wireless projector, as it will save you set-up time.
- Get a good travel case that carries both your projector and your laptop. This is a convenient accessory for traveling presenters.
- Get a projector that has a brightness of at least 1000 lumens. This way, you will be able to combat ambient light in any number of presentation settings you will encounter in your travels.
- Extra features such as a remote mouse can help to free your hands from having to be on the computer.
If you are traveling OVERSEAS:
- If you plan to travel in countries that have different power systems, then your projector MUST have a universal power supply. Universal power supply means the unit will automatically detect different voltage levels, such as 110 volts in the United States or 220 volts in Europe, and adapt easily to them both.
- Compatibility for overseas travel: NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL (including PAL-M, N), SECAM, PAL-60
