HD LCD PLV-Z5 – OK 4 U?

High Definition home theatre systems are hot for this holiday season.

One new option in the LCD projection market is Sanyo’s PLV-Z5. First, the price is attractive at just over $1500. Projector specifics include a contrast ratio of 10,000:1, native resolution of 1,280 by 720p with over 1,000 ANSI lumens.

Sanyo has included a 3D color management so you can fine tune the color, hue and gamma curve and then save it. Neat. And to protect the lens from irritating dust that can mar your picture, there’s a shutter operated from your remote. Act fast and you can even get a $200 rebate through next January. The PLV-Z5 might be a great first entry if you are thinking LCD.
