Figure out the size of the area you are going to be clearing. If it is under half an acre and you have access to an electrical outlet, try a leaf blower powered by electricity.

If you have a large area to cover, a lot of impediments to easy use with a long cord, or some heavy duty blowing, opt for a gas powered handheld. Go with the backpack variety if you do not have strong arms.
