Rubber mulch may make your leaf blowing job easier

When you are leaf blowing errant leaves or new mown grass, you may catch your expensive mulch as well.

There’s a new product, rubber mulch (yeah, rubber mulch) that stays put when leaf blowers are doing their job. This mulch doesn’t wash away when there is a flash flood in your neighborhood and the manufacturers say it will last twelve years. Ah, but does it protect your plants, keep the water in but the weeds out?  Evidently.

Consumer Reports did their usual testing of new products and says this mulch which retails for fourteen or fifteen dollars per cubic foot lives up to its promos. So jack up your leaf blower and blow to your heart’s content…this new mulch ain’t going nowhere.  For more discussion about rubber mulch feel free to visit our leaf blower forum.

If you want to check it out, DuPont’s Long Lasting Mulch and Rubber Stuff Landscaping Mulch are two products you might want to check out.
