Ever see the Maytag commercial with the old repairman sitting at his desk tapping his fingers waiting for a call/job? That's how I feel. The little Honda's been prepped and ready since November and yet nada! Oil's changed, everything's lubed, fresh stabilized gas, new coat of wax, parked by the garge door..... and yet.... where's the snow? Last winter we had our first snowstorm (5 inches or so) here in central Jersey by the first weekend of December. Then just about 4 inches or more almost every weekend after. This winter's been a dusting to an inch here and there. Nothing to sink little red's teeth into. Come on! And know what? I'm not looking for a piece of wood to knock on nor am I keeping my fingers crossed. Bring it on... d*mn it!!!! Enough already! Stop with the teasing! Of course now that I just tuned into the weather channel, they are saying that there may a significant storm this weekend the way things are brewing at this point. Sweet!!!!

Usually be this time of year we have had at least a couple of big storms. Not one yet this year. Just 2-4 inchs of pure annoyance. We almost had a green Christmas here. Down in the valley they did. I am going to have to do something unusual like daring it to snow or going na na na na na you can't get me LMAO..... I am afraid to though because I have been spanked so bad in the past lol.... Marshall man you nailed it, those prices are dropping. C

Oh yeah mrmom, Where you bean? We were worried sick. Your picture almost ended up on the side of a two stroke oil bottle. Two stroke bottle of oil? That's sacrilegious! Nothing but four stroke for me.
Just my luck... if I do get a stroke down the road (in about 25 years I hope) it'll be four limbs that are affected instead of two.. Either way, take me out back and shoot me...please! Robmints, it's good to be missed. As long as I don't owe you any money. ;-)

Just got 24" of snow....................the next county up from us. We only got a few inches of powder. Those lake effect snows can be very selective around here.......one town gets dumped on, the next almost nothing. Frank D.

Actually, we're not getting that much so far this year. Oh sure, everything is still white and snow covered, but not much in the way of new snow. It's been hovering between -10°f at night to 15°f or so during the day. I did use the blower this last weekend... to blast out a trail to get the trailer out. Loaded up the quads and went for a trail ride. I really wanted to by a sled but at this rate... oh well, it's still early! hickster

You would normally think inclement weather would favor the northern team, especially at home. But can you imagine trying to tackle the Atlanta quarterback in the snow, when he knows where he is going? The iggles might be in for a surprise on the way to the dance.
Andy Reid might be more experienced and a really good coach, but I think Mora is a real good fit for his team. Like his team, he is young, confident, competent, and loose. And the Falcons have what it takes to win, a real good defense. People talk alot about McNabb, but it might be Westbrooke that needs to carry the load. Never go against the boys in Vegas, but 4 1/2 sounds like alot. I sure hope Philly isn't counting on another fourth and 26.

Hey Tom
Did you break in the 3650?? If so, how did it compare to your other Toros?
Emmo:
I tried using the 3650 but the snow was way too light. I was getting covered in snow because the R tek was just blowing the snow all over the place.
Switched to the CR20 which was much happier and kept the blowing to a minimum.
This weekend if we get the 6-12" I do plan on an informal Snow Commander vs. 3650 comparison test.

Nothing wrong with taking your Ariens for a walk on a sunny day.

so far this season we have had over three feet of snow on my hill here in northern jersey... this however required my piling the piddling dustings we have had in to a pile. the weather folks are toying with us by "forecasting" 6+ inches this weekend, we will see. wd

Finally. . . .a chance to really give the new Ariens a run!! Environment Canada's Official Weather WarningsWarningsSt Johns and vicinity 10:51 AM NST Saturday 22 January 2005
Blizzard warning for St Johns and vicinity continued
Near zero visibilities in snow and blowing snow are expected to spread throughout the above regions today. Visibilities will improve overnight as the bulk of the snow moves offshore and winds gradually diminish. An intense low pressure system southeast of Newfoundland will track northward today to lie east of the Avalon Peninsula. Total snowfall amounts of 25 to 35 centimetres is expected over the Avalon Peninsula with lesser amounts to the west. Strong northerly winds gusting anywhere from 70 to 100 km/h will develop by this evening. These winds combined with the falling snow and cold temperatures will give near zero visibilities in blowing snow and give blizzard conditions to the Avalon and east coast. Conditions will improve overnight as the snow ends and winds diminish. Strong northerly winds will combine with cold temperatures over northern and central sections tonight to give extreme wind chill values near minus 35. |
