I usuual yuse a " Premum" brand, like Shindiawa, Husky or such, that are pre measured for the specified ratio, like 50-1. It costs a few cents more, but is much more conveniant, is a quality product, and eliminated having to measure out to get the desire ratio when your pumping gas, or trying to mix it during the snow. Im a heavy user, and still only go through 6 or so bottles a year.

I know here in CT, due to numerouse early season storms, most BIG BOX retailers are Out of stock. The local Sears is making a killing selling machines. They are well over 100 units in last 7-10 days. They are abble to ship in a special " Hot Truck " delivery every time the forecasters call for snow. But I think this will dry up soon too.

I know they have gone back and forth over the years with number of impeller blades. IIRC, there was really no differnce, since as long as the impeller is being fed the maximum amount of snow it can handle, it will move it at the same rate.
