Digital Camcorders
Digital video offers high video quality — 500 lines of resolution. Because digitals record across a wide color spectrum, both richness and accuracy of the image's color are improved on DV.
Unlike analog, DV allows you to make as many digital copies as you wish without suffering any loss of quality. Audio quality is also improved on digital camcorders, with models offering 16-bit CD-quality sound.
With growing popularity of DVD technology, some digitals can record onto a disk rather than a tape. They can use either DVD-RW disks, which are reusable but may not play in your DVD player, or DVD-R, which work in all DVD players but aren't reusable.
Most digital camcorders will offer very good to excellent picture and audio quality. Digital models are available in compact, easy to use designs that are comfortable to carry.
