High definition camcorder tapes

You may have the best Spielberg camera angles but if your media isn’t up to snuff, you will not be at the Oscar platform next year (yeah, we got dreams!)

TDK wants your final product to reflect your care and has come out with a new high performance tape for HDV camcorders called Pro Grade HDV media. They say it is a dual layer tape with a ton of initials…here goes…DLME or Dual Layer Metal Evaporation and HCPL or Hard Carbon Protective Layer which evidently means you should be impressed with its quality. This pancake approach delivers extremely low dropout rates along with a higher output.

The reliability was tested by TDK as ten per cent higher than the usual DVC media. You get just over sixty minutes of video in 1080i and 720p resolution. So check out TDK’s new media before you begin filming your opus noir and prepare for the phrase “and the winner of this year’s Oscar is…”
