Greetings, All!
I have an 11 hp ohv Sears Craftsman snowthrowerand I have to replace the rh auger blade which is on a sleeve fitting over a shaft.
I am trying to bring the entire auger assembly out of the housing to get clearance to remove the blade, but the shaft from the impeller will not come loose (although I've taken out the bolts holding the impeller to the shaft and it just spins, so that's not holding it)...
so... the question: do I have to split the machine and go in from the drive side?
and... what is the function of that roll pin?
and, most of all, is there a quicker way to do this, ideally before the next snowfall brings us to 5 feet on the ground? ; )

The quickest way would be to cut out the RH side of the auger bucket, remove/replace the rake, then weld the cutoff piece back on. Marty Marty, This would be on equipment thats your own, right? You wouldn't do this method unless you had the owners permission ,would you? I'd be crucifed up here if i done that with out owners permission.

He DID ask for the EASIEST way, didn't he? Its HIS machine. As for a customer's machine, I won't even entertain your question...
