I was using my snow thrower today. It was working fine. I shut it off to brush off my car. Then I restarted it and went to move some more snow. But once I got into the snow pile it would not throw the snow. So I backed up, shut it off, and cleaned out the auger. Then I started it again and engaged the auger. The auger was rotating, but once I got back into the snow pile it stopped turning again. The shear pins aren't broken. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? It is only a year old.

I think your belts have stretched.

You will have to adjust your Auger belt tension!!

Thanks for the quick reply Fred. But I am not the most mechanically inclined person. So is adjusting the auger belt tension the same as the attachment clutch/brake? I am asking because in the manual it gives 3 suggestions if it isn't throwing snow properly. The first is to check the shear pins, second is to adjust the attachment clutch/brake, and the third is to replace the attachment drive belt.

Yes.  Jubol is referring to the clutch/brake adjustment that is described in your manual. That could well be the problem.

DB9 - Get yourself a belt anyway but try the adjusting first. That very well should do it. If not, at least you HAVE the belt if its needed, and chances are you WILL need it at some point down the road.
