Hi... In the OPE... I find the 21" mower and BCS tractor start easier w/ full synthetic... like one (or two) pulls vs. 3-4... And... my ole' Gravely garden tractor gets a hard multi-hour workout mowin... I like the full-synthetic oil... Dave...

Hi Guys! The Amsoil 30wt synthetic is marketed as "Diesel Oil". If you read the container it comes in it explains it can be used in any type of engine requiring 30wt. My Amsoil dealer still has it on the shelf. He says it only comes packaged in gallon containers. The Kawasaki owners manual for the OHV engines warns you that while the use of 10w30 is acceptable you can expect the engines to use oil. They state that the use of straight 30wt. will eliminate this consumption. Marc Synthetic 10W-30/SAE 30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (ACD) Exceeds both 10W-30 multi-grade and SAE 30 straight-grade viscosity requirements. Provides outstanding performance in older and modern diesel engines as well as gasoline engines. Excellent for heavy equipment and personal vehicles. Worldwide performance specifications include: API CI-4+/CF/CF-2/SL; Global DHD-1; ACEA A3/B3, E3, E5; JASO DH-1; Mack; Detroit Diesel; Caterpillar; $#%*mins; Volvo; Daimler-Benz

Hi Again- Just noticed the new label on the Amsoil 30wt. It now says 10w30/30wt. Think they are trying to cover their bases against the Mobil10/30 Synthetic? The old Amsoil Diesel label read 30wt. Nothing about 10w30!! Marc

Marshall,
I use the Mobil 10W30 in my Husqvarna lawn tractor and it has the Kawasaki engine. I have not had a problem with it using oil at all. I think they may put that on there just to cover themselves if someone decides to put a cheap brand of 10W30 dino oil instead of something of quality. I would not let that scare you away from the Kawasaki engine.
UC113, I'm glad to hear that!! I can't imagine a company making an engine that only runs on 30W oil today. Thanks a lot for the heads up! BTW, how's the Husky doing this summer?

hey now about that oil... you also need to know that there is a difference in air cooled engine oil and liquid cooled engine oil. thyere are very few oils that will say anything about being for air cooled engines . and on the kawi engine ...use the 30 wt . later chris
