new to me tractor
Original Message   Jun 14, 2005 5:41 pm
hey gang...

i have been out for a while ,actually i have been in the basement working on my recent aquisition...hey that sounds important

i got a 1977  1612 powerking tractor. it has a 12 horse kohler (k301 cast iron). all gear drive ,3pt hitch, front electric pto, front mount snow  dozer blade, mid mount 48 " mower and it has 16 inch rear wheels and 8 inch front wheels.

i have been using already and have been doing some restoration work,i would like to get it in as near original condition as i can.

it is very strong compared to the monster tractor and its heavy a well, all cast iron and steel ,no plastic there.

maybe miss snowshoveler will post a pic.

I loved the pics of your last project, I cannot wait for pics of this one, I have no clue what it even looks like?  Also very cool to be able to drive it into your basement to work on.

I am thinking of doing that with my own, but it might be better to extend onto the garage or something like that.  It sounds like a workhorse.

This is NOT snowshoveler's tractor, but a similar one I found on Ebay, just so you folks itching for a photo could have one:

These machines were AWSOME in their day and would still hold their own against anything in it's price range today, if they were still made. They could be fitted with a front loader, rear sleeve hitch or a cat. "0" 3 point hitch, could be had with two 3 speed trannies in tandam offereing a big number of speeds (10 forward and I think 4 in reverse if my math is right)

I meant to bring my camera today, but I was almost asleep this morning when I left the house.  I really need to upgrade the computer at home so I can get the pictures from the camera to the computer without taking the camera for a drive.

my tractor is similar to the one in the above pic.

front wheels are different and a few other things but for the most part ..the same

and mine dosent have the tiller on back either.although it was an option and it is supposed to use shaft drive pto from the mid mount.

i would take pics but last time i used Sherri,s camera i cut everyones heads off.

i just dont know why i focused on all the ladies chests area.

anyway im banned from future camera use

Thats a cool looking tractor! Just how much power does it have? I mean like is it geared low enough to pull say a full size truck? Or would it just lift the front wheels?

its is geared very low indeed.

on level ground it would easily pull a fullsized truck, probably even 2 if they didnt roll to hard against it.
