High-tech washing machine

If you are of the opinion that more tech is better, then sign up for this one. A washer and dryer are being developed by the Internet Home Alliance (think Microsoft, HP, P&G) that will run on your home computer network. Although some may be satisfied with the buzzer that alerts when the cycle is done, others have perseverated over forgotten fabric softener.

If you are in the latter group, consider this new connection. You can be notified when the dryer is finished on your PC and then set it to run for another ten, knowing the load was heavy towels, or desiring that worn and shrunk look for your tee shirts.

Some Atlanta, GA families are giving the first prototypes a try. Somehow working on safe water for the world seems a more laudable goal, but who knows…clean water may be linked with this latest endeavor.
