Half the water and half the energy
Tired of doing three or four loads of wash to handle your dirty laundry? At the International Builders Show, Kenmore unveiled a yo’ momma clothes washing machine called the Oasis HE (i.e., High Efficiency).
Sears, Kenmore’s parent says the Oasis HE will use about 50 per cent less water than your standard machine and about 50% less energy. Wow, that is some claim in this uber energy stressed era. There’s about 25% more space so you can cut in half your time eating chips and waiting for the washing load to finish. I know I want to save time and money and that’s just the claim with this new machine.
Not only that, but the drum is a real fast mover…1,000 revolutions per minute…so you get more water forced out of your clothing. That means less time in the dryer, less wear and tear on your clothing and lower energy bills. Sears says the dryer will dry faster than the washer will wash!
Most of us still prefer a top loader in spite of the advances made in the side loading arena…so Sears is counting on our predilection for top operating units in this new line.
