KOHL's does it again with pre-Summer sales.  Renews its 15-20-30 percent off on everything using the Kohl's Charge card from June 7-12, 2007.  Included are floor care items including .............yes you guessed it dyson vacuums.  Advertised are the DC07 All Floors for $399 and DC17 Absolute Animal for $549.  Both prices before the discounts.  And no claim to shame.  No mention of the 5 year old dyson lie:  NEVER CLOGS NEVER LOSES SUCTION.  See local stores for sale items and sale prices.  The discounts are good with regular, sale, and clearance priced merchandise.  Same as previous sale.  So what happened with the dyson MAP?

Carmine D.

Also added to the dyson sales venue are the DC07 Animal for $499 and the DC16 Hand Held for $149.  Both prices before the KOHL's discounts of 15-20-30 percent off on-line and in stores for purchases charged to the KOHL's card.  Sale runs from Thursday June 7 through Tuesday June 12 (FATHER's DAY sale).

Check your local KOHL's stores and prices for more dyson and floorcare brands and products on sale.

Caution: If you bought the DC16 KOHL's advertised in Sunday's papers for $149 (see above with my 'dud' reference) you cannot get a price adjustment.  So find a problem with it, like the 3-5 minute run time and return it.  Then consider the lower price if you REALLY have to have it:  Here are 4 good uses:  Paper weight, door stop, conversation piece, and prop for Halloween custom.

Looks like all the big box retailers and Web sites are beating the HSN prices.   Wink

HOME DEPOT joins the Father's Day sales venue with some very nice tools, some cordless lithium-ion battery powered ones too.  Like the 4 volt Screwdriver with 21 piece accessory kit for $29.  A Special Buy rating.  Like Ryobi says "Pro features at affordable prices."

And talking about Special Buys and affordable prices HD has the Black & Decker 18 volt pivoting had vac for $49.  Excellent price.  And talked about much on the Forum.  Self-cleaning filter, bagless, excellent power, cordless.  According to HD:  Strong power to tackle the toughest messes.  Great for the car.  Also available on line.

I just might treat myself this Father's Day!  On what?  The cordless lithium-ion Ryobi 4 volt screwdriver and the B&D pivot vac.

Carmine,
If you are going to treat yourself to a Father's day present.  Make it one of those Robomowers.  There are several people in my city that have them, there was even a newspaper article last Saturday.   The humans that live with "Herbie" say that at first he was great entertainment, people came over to watch him mow (which he does daily, and recharges himself when needed).    They said the hardest part was getting  the paramiters set at first, after that they just don't worry about the mowing anylonger.

As far as Vacs, for my new move, I want a light weight to do quick work around the house.  I am strongly leaning towards the Simplicity Freedom I spoke of on another thread.

Thanks.  The 18 volt pivot vacuum is one of the products for the eligibility.  As my Jewish Aunt use to say:  "Such a deal!."

With FATHER's Day just a week away (and estimated $9.9 BILLION to be spent) one retailer is conspicuously absent again with vacuum sales:  For the second straight week, BEST BUY is a no show, no go.

Well you might say, FATHER's don't really want vacuums for gifts on their "official" HOLIDAY.  I'd say dyson DC16 Hand Held would be a welcome power tool around the workshop and garage.  But as we know, the majority of these are getting returned to BEST BUY after purchase and SEARS decided not to take the product on at all.  Sears prefers to sell the Black and Decker Pivot vacuum.  Why?  Dyson DC16 price at $149 is too high and it has way too short a run time, especially with less expensive longer running competitors: Like B&D for $59.  HOME DEPOT has the B&D pivot vacuum for $49 this week and a free companion airline ticket is possible with purchase.

Maybe BEST BUY will sneak a vacuum or 2 in next week at the last minute.  Have to wait and see.  In the mean time KOHL's has the DC16 Hand Held for $149 (BEFORE 15-20 and 30 percent off) and several other retailers have hand helds for sale too but not the DC16.  More to come later.

Linens-N-Things agrees.  The DC16 Hand Held is advertised for $149 BEFORE a 20 percent off coupon valid through June 17, Father's Day.  LNT and Bed Bath and Beyond are struggling with sales primarily a result of the protracted housing market retrenchment.  Economists now predict no real come back until 2008 for a housing slump that began in late 2005.

Circuit City features the DC18 dyson lite for $469.  And continues the dyson mantra "No clogging, No loss of suction."  Didn't get the ASA memo.  No loss.  At $469, you can beat the price.

TARGET has a nice twist: The DC14 Drive (a dyson Exclusive for TARGET stores) for $459 and a $50 Giftcard.  It still has the dyson mantra too.  Change is slow for the vacuum industry even for a self-proclaimed dyson maverick.

KMart gets into the sales venue too with two hand helds.  Both Black and Decker: The wet/dry Dustbuster and the Cyclonic Dustbuster for $17 and $32 respectively.

And just about all the retailers have Shop Vacs and Rigids on sale for the garages and workshops.

But the weekly ad kudos go to Dave and Oreck who passed by the Sunday ads and stuck with the weeklies.  ORECK revives  the "think pink" campaign for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  With the XL for $299 and the usual giveaways (iron, canister) Oreck will donate a portion of the proceeds from the XL sales to the Foundation.  And this kicks off the official ORECK mid-year sale.

The National Retail Foundation estimates that $9.9 BILLION will be spent for FATHER'S Day in 2007.  This compares to $9 BILLION in 2006 and $15.8 BILLION for MOTHER's DAY.

Happy vacuuming.
