The difference that dysoners can't understand is that the FUSION by HOOVER is $128 vice the dyson which is $400 plus (like the Fantom).  There's also the Dirt Devil Reaction for $169 and the VAX for $250.  All the above makes are using cyclonic technology but for much less.

BTW, the BEST BUY exclusive dyson the DC14 Full Access has a $70 instant cash off the price of $530 making it $460 (offer good thru 4/1) before the FREE DYSON CAR CARE KIT worth $84.99 with the purchase of any dyson.  Such a deal!

If what you say is true, then Hoover has copied Dyson in every way.

Does the Z use cyclonic technology Mr. dysoner?  Think before you answer.

Panasonic has the lead one page premier advertising space this week in the Sunday Parade with SEARS ad for HOOVER following.

BTW the Panasonic on Demand Power technology is the Parades's feature vacuum.  This vacuum appears to qualfy for the thread on vacuums with new advanced technology.  The vacuum regulates power (and efficiency) automatically based on the level of dirt detected.  Nice feature and it works well.  The maker says it saves time, work and energy.  I believe BEST BUY and other retailers sell this model for $279.

Dyson Animal DC07 and DC14 are the high priced vacuums advertised in Target and BEST BUY for $499 and $549 respectively not including the FREE DYSON CARE CAR KIT which retails for $84.99 that comes free with the purchase.

At work, we have replaced many of these Panasonic motors in Dysons.  We also see a lot of Dysons with stretched and worn belts, which means new clutch assemblies too.  You know a vacuum was brilliantly engineered when you have to replace the entire clutch just because the supposedly permanent flat stretch belts have reached the end of their life.

Is it *really* necessary to replace the clutch if a belt has stretched, is the clutch so delicate and prone to wear, or is the recommended clutch replacement a little bonus or incentive for a shop owner to take on dyson repairs, since the clutch must be removed to change at least one of the belts? Which belt is most prone to stretch and "reach the end of its life?"

ArtieV,
One or both will strech. The clutch is of poor design when it has to be replaced because of stretched belts. In the 70's Electrolux had a clutch system on their uprights and never had a broken belt or replaced a clutch brought into me. The belts were cogged and never stretched.
Cost for Dyson clutch is high and labor makes it costly.
Dualcyclone claims no belt repacements, filters for the life of Dyson. If you have a problem Hardsell says it is customer abuse.
Sorry Dyson doesn't have the power and isn't repair free for life like Dysoners are leading people to believe.

After an EASTER reprieve, BEST BUY and the other retailers are back to business with Spring vacuum sales.

Dirt Devil Reaction D2 gets the nod from several retailers including BEST BUY.  Note the claims say: "Superior suction that lasts;" and "suction that doesn't stop until you shut it off."

KOHL's premiers the dyson line and the free car care kit giveaway.  Sorry no real sales here just MSRP and no suction claims by KOHL's at all for the mighty dyson.  Just another line of vacuums.

In a surprise retail move, KMART now carries 2 Kenmore uprights: a bagged and bagless model for $99.  Good move and ideal venue and price.

The Sunday Parade features an array of Panasonic appliances including the Power on Demand Bagless which along with the EUREKA BOSS Smart Vac (which BTW is on sale at BEST BUY this week for $149) are two of the best selling vacuums at BEST BUY.  The Panasonic products advertised are sponsored by Target stores at target.com.

The Parade also features the HOOVER bagged Self-Propelled WindTunnel for $259, Steam Vac for the same price and $179, Floormate for $169 and Tempo WidePath that so many of the Forum would be experts brag on for its similarilty to the WT for only $59.95

HOOVER products advertised are compliments of SEARS shop now.shop sears.com.

I forget which but either Kmart bought Sears, or Sears bought Kmart, so it's not too surprising to see Kenmore products migrate to Kmart.

Good idea in any case as the Kenmore vacs are, so far, generally good quality and a nice alternative to the cheapies Kmart usually sells.

Should also add the Miele and Bissell have had cannister vacs that attempted to automatically detect a given vacuuming situation and increase or decrease suction automatically. The Bissell languishes near the bottom of CU's ratings (my playtime with it at Frys suggested it was indeed pretty miserable). Am not sure if Miele is still making theirs.
