briggs buys murry...or did they
Original Message   Mar 2, 2005 8:32 pm
rumors have it that murry has been purchased by briggs .

story is that murry was in debt to briggs for 40 million...thats a lot.

i wasnt even aware murry was in trouble until i read it here.

and if they owed briggs that much ,how much did they owe tecumseh.

i find this kinda interesting....

briggs bought out simplicity which owns snapper, and they took a lot of flac from other equipment manufactures.

so now they grab murry which was in big trouble supposedly.

were they really in trouble or was this there way of expanding without out upsetting more folks.

personaly i have no problem with companies expanding and turning a profit,as long as they arent getting a handout or doing somthing sneaky  to do it.

i may be way off base here and hope that more facts will follow ,but right now its just curious to me .

just speculating.

I haven't been able to get on Murray's website in several days now. No Murray info on the Briggs site either...... maybe (totally a guess on my part not supported by facts anywhere) the Murray name will be fazed out, and the assets blended in with the Simplicity/Snapper lines? Any one have more info? Anyone getting on the Murray website?

Murray.com is now registered to Murray Inc.

Both murray.com and murrayinc.com are unavailable.

Changes are a happening.

Well. I can finally see the home page, but it kicks me to a "Page not available" screen if I try to click on anything. Maybe Murray will get their website working by spring.

If Brigg,s did buy Murray , I can understand them using only Brigg,s engines.   That will be some big bunch of engines.   They make a good engine but I still believe that some of the new Twin  Tecumseh,s are just as good if not somewhat better.---Will
