Briggs muffler replacement
Original Message   Oct 4, 2010 11:40 pm
I need to replace a muffler on a Briggs alum block and the old steel muffler is stuck on real tight. Is there a way to remove without damaging block ? Thanks.

Something I forgot....  take a punch around the pipe where it starts to enter the bock,   Tap the pipe with the punch  and hammer just enough to put a slight dent in the pipe close to the block... This will break the seal - "seal of rust/ corrosion"-- between the block and the pipe to help the oil get in.....

Good Luck,

Friiy
