Snowblower Care: Bucket and Chute lubricants

O.K. gang, tackling one of the age old questions. What is a good lubricant or protectant for the business end of a cnowblower. The one that I bought, and have nto yet used, was coated with spray cooking oil, I have also heard of spray waxes, seen a few spray teflon items, also have heard of people using WD-40 liberally, 

Does any make more sense than another, or are they all pretty much useless and not needed?
