Ariens 824 worm or helicon gears
Original Message   Mar 4, 2009 12:50 am
When I rebuild my 824 I have a parts machine that has helicon gears w/cast iron case I've been told there is less power lost with helicon gears but are they strong as the CI worm gears ? Thanks

It's likely the center distance is not the same (and the worm shaft geometry);  the gearcases are likely not interchangeable.

I figured the whole assembly may interchange. Has anyone exchanged the snowblower unit from older Ariens to a newer model 92450?
