sears snowblower wont stay running
Original Message   Oct 27, 2006 2:17 pm
Hi every one, need some help here.

I have a 10HP Sears blower (older)  it wont stay running unless I keep pushing the primer button.  If I do this, it runs great but as soon as I stop pushing the soft rubber primer it stops?  Any ideas??

Thanks a million

Joel

Joel - your fuel may not be the freshest, but it DOES run when priming it if I read correctly...

What your carb needs a GOOD cleaning. When you remove the bolt that holds the float bowl, you will need to clean the tiny holes in it. It looks like this:

Use a fine wire to clean out these holes & spray it liberally with carb cleaner. THEN your snowblower will run like a champ. Since its an older unit, make sure the bottom mixture screw is set 1.5 turns counterclockwise from a lightly seated position, and the idle is set 1 turn counterclockwise from a seated position.

See those holes? They're the ones you need to address. Sorry about the HTML goof above. DUH!!!
