Hi every one, need some help here. I have a 10HP Sears blower (older) it wont stay running unless I keep pushing the primer button. If I do this, it runs great but as soon as I stop pushing the soft rubber primer it stops? Any ideas?? Thanks a million Joel

Thanks a million Joel If it hasn't run since last winter and the gas has remained in the machine there's a good chance the fuel is bad or has moisture in it. First thing would be to change the fuel. Drop the fuel bowl and clean it out. Drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel. Should start now. You could also add a small amount of fuel line cleaner in it once it has fresh fuel. It'll help remove any deposits/contaminates that may have built up in the carb.
That's my story...and I'm stickin' to it..

Joel - your fuel may not be the freshest, but it DOES run when priming it if I read correctly... What your carb needs a GOOD cleaning. When you remove the bolt that holds the float bowl, you will need to clean the tiny holes in it. It looks like this: <img src=http://www.lawn-mower-shop.com/bowlnut.gif> Use a fine wire to clean out these holes & spray it liberally with carb cleaner. THEN your snowblower will run like a champ. Since its an older unit, make sure the bottom mixture screw is set 1.5 turns counterclockwise from a lightly seated position, and the idle is set 1 turn counterclockwise from a seated position.
