Original Message   Dec 10, 2005 1:14 pm
My 926 came with the hair installed like this.
It looked like it woud fall off and it did.
How is this supposed to be?

Weird.

On mine, the same end is through the hole, however it points in the same direction as the zig zag end (so they are parallel).  Yours appears to point in the opposite direction.  Also on mine, the zig zag is up against the bolt, unlike yours.

I'm not really sure how to correct that and make it look like mine without bending the pin drastically.

Maybe I am missing something?

That failed.  Well, if you can tell me how to post an image, I could do that.  If you shoot me your email, I can send the image that way too.

See what happens when you buy at Home depot!  Couldnt be from a dealer or you would just call and they would help you

Fatboy, that pin is an anti-rotation feature for the pinion shaft. Check your pinion gear/sprocket to make sure it's rotating freely on the shaft. Looks like the shaft bound to the gear/sprocket on the inside and messed up the hairpin (no, it shouldn't look like that).
