That is cool. The paper shredded should be able to digest a phone book or two at a time.

I'll take the snowblower. Just needs some tracks, hydrostatic drive and a Honda red paint job an it would be perfect.  Envy of the neighborhood with that engine.

Honda stable: HS 724 snowblower;  HRS216 lawnmower; BF2 UWWW; 5 HP, 2200 psi/2.9 GPM pressure washer.

Electric: BV2500 B&D Leaf Hog/snow duster; old 12" Weedeater.

What I want to know is...what is the recommended sustained RPM in that application? What is the recommended oil change interval and recommended oil? Is that a single stage or two-stage...and where can I get one?

Snowblower...Toro Power Max 726te 2004

Lawn tractor...AYP w/ 14.5 Briggs-42in 2000

ooooo, nice.  Just raise the RPM and that should work in any application.

Now those are cool!

That thing sure sounded like it was pushing much more than 2500 RPM's.

The Snowblower needs to operate like those commercial walkbehind mowers that have the attachment that allows you to stand on it. They're like a zero turn.

Then they would have to add on a speedometer.

The word HEMI is actually short for hemispherical. In a piston engine, the area from the top of the piston to the top of the cylinder head by the valve heads is known as the combustion chamber (this is actually just an area of air!). The combustion chamber on most overhead valved AUTOMOTIVE engines are either wedge shaped (think of a piece of pie) or hemispherical (think of tennis ball cut in half). The cylinder head design dictates the combustion area shape, so when someone says "hemi", it really only refers to the engine's cylinder head having a hemispherically shaped combustion chamber.

Hemi heads have the spark plug located at dead center of the combustion chamber, which makes for an extremely efficient & powerful fuel/air mixing & flame burn (actual igniting of the fuel/air). Hemi heads also have ideal valve placement to help the flow of air (intake & exhaust) through the cylinder head. In simple terms, the head design is VERY efficient, and allows an engine to make excellent power! On the downside, hemi heads themselves usually are quite heavy & large, and valvetrains can be somewhat complex (read: expensive).

Wedge shaped combustion chambers are what most OPE engines have, as do most automotive engines. The "wedge" shape by design, is not as efficient as a "hemi" due to all the sharp angles that are present, which creates turbulance. The valve placement & spark plug location are less than ideal also. Cost was a big factor that lead to the wedge design. However, a wedge chamber CAN be modified to produce very impressive burn & airflow rates - having said that, IMHO all this "HEMI" talk (car & truck commercials) as of late really doesn't impress me personally. Chrysler/Daimler is really getting a lot of hype & sales out of it though...

There is another variation of head called a semi-hemi, but it is not widely used. It is actually a cross between a wedge & hemi shaped combustion chambers.

well well well...

i looked at the hemi snowblower sunday and somthing just didnt look right.

so today i looked a bit closer...the augers are in backwards.

this just goes to prove it dosent matter how much money you have you can still be a dumbhead.

i bet i can get it to work a lot better than the idiots that put it together.

gee and i dont have the backing of chrysler either and i apparently am a bit smarter.

Those snowblowers would probably launch gravel THROUGH your house. Some of us know what happens when you hit a hidden wet newspaper with a conventional snowblower... (it jams the auger and stops a 5-9 HP engine. What is gonna happen if there is 300 HP behind that auger when the wet newspaper hits? Something is gonna break and break BIGTIME!

I got the Hemi thing in my 2004 Dodge Ram. It's....just OK. If the truck were 2000 pounds lighter and had a 410 posi rear instead of the 276 or what ever it has now...it would haul a$$. I wish it had dual stainless steel exhaust. It probably would have an additional 15 HP.

Put on a K&N filter charger with those duals and you can count on 30-40HP more and better mileage to boot!

BTW, talk to Snowshoveler Chris about the accelerator pedal trick for your Hemi, seriously!

mmmmm...my hemi is a 2004 ram with 3:55 gears is very lazy around town.its so bad i can hardly keep up withan old tired honda civic with an automatic tranny.

sherri,s f150 4x4 with a six will easily run away from it in town and is better on gas.

in my opinion dodge made a mistake with these. the hemi is built to turn a lot of rpms and then they give it crappy gears and a lousey  tranny thats always shifting up instead of down.

its a shame they couldnt build the rest of the truck to handle the engine ,it would sure be awsome if they did.

ive had 3 dodges in a row and this is the last one for me.

its been a real dissapointment to me and now sherri wont even drive it now,she says she would rather walk.

Maybe they will get it right with time...........The first $#%*mins powered TD trucks were destroying drive lines by the boat load too. They eventually got the rest of the truck up to par with the motor.

I'm not much for brand loyalty, but I wanna see which one of these bad boys really works! I see the big block Chevy unit is out on the loose and presumably either ran out of fuel or snow or both! The Dodge still looks pristine in the showroom. I think these guys should man up for a 'blow off" to separate the men from the boys! I would pay to see that action going down...
