Honda HT-R 3009 Rider Before/After
Original Message   Jun 11, 2005 7:44 pm
Here's my  latest project before.......

.... and after

Its a nice little Honda riding mower model HT-R 3009, 9hp 30" rider. Bought it for $50 not running. The carb was a BIG mess, it needed a new blade & battery. Runs ok but smokes a little because I added too much oil to the crankcase (no owner's manual). It cuts & bags extremely well - not bad for a $100 total investment...

Beautiful Marty.
It would be nice if the previous owners took as good of care of the machines you fix as you do.

As usual Marty, you did some fine work on that machine. Another OPE saved from the scrap yard before its time.

Honda stable: HS 724 snowblower;  HRS216 lawnmower; BF2 UWWW; 5 HP, 2200 psi/2.9 GPM pressure washer.

Electric: BV2500 B&D Leaf Hog/snow duster; old 12" Weedeater.

Thanks Guys!   I actually remembered to post a BEFORE pic this time!  I did the entire lawn (3/4 acre) with this Honda on Saturday. It took quite a while with that diminutive 30" deck, but the lawn sure looked darned good afterwards. I'm amazed on how quiet the engine & cutting deck operate. I took a chance & sandblasted the carburetor's float bowl, as it was heavilly varnished & rusted up - it cleaned off that crud in seconds. I refrained from following suit with the carb's main body, as I didn't want to get any particles stuck in it's insides. Instead, I used a Scotchbrite pad with carb cleaner to get the rest of the carb spic & span.

I know its summer (almost!) but I have to throw a little snowblower story in here!  I missed a KILLER deal by a mere minute Saturday on an early 1980's Sears Craftsman 7hp, 2 stage, CLEAN & RUNNING snowblower that I saw at a yard sale for $25. I watched it tool down the driveway with its new owner smirking.

That's right Marty, it was the first time you posted a before and after.  Too bad about that Sears.
