My snowblower is two years old and I went to move it in the garage. The wheels are locked in place. Any ideas?

That snowblower should move freely when the engine is off. Are the handles, both left and right NOT engaged ie down? C

Not sure how mechanical you are, but the Manual and a few simple tools can get you looking into the transmission area, under the rear of machine. Only a few bolts. If your not too handy, consider method below. Two yers old, if there is a problem it should be covered by waranty. or at minimum, get it tuned and serviced for the coming winter.

Hi djoc: I bet I have the answer here....If I had to bet, the excess slack in the chain is bunched up and caught on the bottom cross member. To check this out, tip the snowblower up onto the auger housing with the wheels in the air. Take out the two bolts that hold the bottom cover plate on and remove. Take a look inside and I am willing to bet this is the problem. I too had this happen to me....Ariens claimed that I am the ONLY one that this had occurrance. In my case, I wound up making a new tensioner because of the rinky dink original design. If you do a search for "Redesigned chain tensioner" you will see how I did it. I think it is on page 12 now. Let us know what you find. bbwb

Thanks for the ideas. I will check it out once I can get my mechanically brother in law over.
