When do digital cameras go on sale?

Digital cameras have an interesting sales cycle.  There are three significant times of the year.  First is Christmas.  After that comes April then October.

The best Christmas sales tend to be on Black Friday or just after Christmas.  This makes sense since all retailers and manufacturers want to make a splash at this time of the year.

Where does April come in?  Well, in April, retailers are expecting new models to come in soon so they will discount their current, but soon to be outdated, models.

The same goes for October.  Retailers are looking to lower or eliminate their inventory of cameras that are not going to be the big sellers at Christmas.
