Best credit card deals - worth shopping around for

If you are thinking about applying for a credit card or are unhappy with your current company, start shopping around for the best deal.

There are introductory rates that are short lived. Find out how long these teaser rates apply and what the final rate will be.

Need a card for business purposes. Make sure you are not liable if the company defaults on the payment by asking about removing the personal guarantee. Some companies let you pick the date the payments are due. If it is important to you to coincide this date with paycheck deposits, make sure this is an option.

Want rebates? There is a mess of fine print when it comes to the rewards. It pays to read the fine print. Some cards reward only at special vendors, some after a specified amount has been spent, some have caps on how much per year and on and on. Make sure you are going to get what you want when you want it.

Try not to miss a payment. If you are more than ninety days delinquent the rewards go bye bye and you will be required to pay a fee to get back in their good graces.
