This compact from Bosch's relatively compact and lightweight, offering good suction and a powerbrush that can be used on throw rugs, furniture and other items without fear of damage. The vac tends to drag on carpet but is easy to carry thanks to two handles. Filtrette bags work well, are easy to replace and offer automatic sealing. Vac's not the quietest around but variable speed lets you tailor suction to job. Hose and telescope wand are sturdy and their swivels resist kinking. The HEPA filter's good sized and tightly sealed to the motor body. Definitely worth considering!

Bosch Forumla is compact, lightweight cannister with HEPA filter and slender, gentle powerbrush. Works well for furniture, throw rugs, some hard floors, lopile rugs (Parquette brush would help). Has good airflow, motor noise less than many but not low as Bosch Premium or Miele. Castor design poor - vac drags over most rugs. Powercord rewinds like windowshade. WessellWerk Powerbrush gentle on rugs but not good for aggressive cleaning. Filtrette bags/HEPA filter easy to change, hard to find (few dealers). Price varies widely - good buy at $380, not so good at list price ($600).
