Hepa bag and Microlined bag. Question
04/11/07 at 1:33pm

I have a Kenmore can and it came with a Kenmore Hepa bag when I bought it about a yr ago. I had a Kenmore can prior to this one that I gave my grandma and I noticed this one didn't have as good of suction as that one. I had bought a pack of the endust hepa bags and when I ran out of them I bought the DVC Microlined bags and the suction is sooooooo much better! I can't believe how much better. I thought the hepa bags not only filtered better but performed better as well. I've read these forums and have not seen anyone mention this.

Hello Mark:

Depends on the brand maker of the vacuum bags.  The DVC brand is better than Endust (at least in your case with the Kenmore bags).  Endust is a maker of vacuum bags that are sold primarily thru grocery stores.  DVC is a vacuum store brand for paper bags.

The best bags I have used for maintaining suction are Filtrette bags, and they also filter very well. The worst for maintaining airflow are the Air-way bags, which do have great filtration, and they seriously are near HEPA filtration, unlike some bags which merely claim to be. I have also used DVC micro-lined bags, and they do a pretty good job of mainting suction, and filtration is adequate. For me the base bags are the worst choice. They neither filter well, nor maintain airflow all that well.
