They've come up with something that at least looks interesting.  (Love the look of the gold one.) The wheeled floor nozzle is different in that there's a single strip of brush for bare floor cleaning.  It isn't clear to me if the brush strip can also be used in tandem with the lint picker for carpet cleaning.
 
This is what many models of American canister vacs employed in rug/floor tools for many years until the European style nozzles introduced all around brush strips that lifted out of the way for carpet cleaning.  Though it's my first time to eyeball the thing, the extra swivel facility on the nozzle is of dubious usefulness as most people will be inclined to remove the nozzle and simply use the cleaner wand's open end to suck up dirt in narrow spaces.  The video demo provided shows that at best you can clean half the width of a very narrow space and then would have to remove the nozzle and turn it the other way to clean the other side -- time consuming and probably not very effective either.  
 
The lever release for extending the telescopic wand is certainly different and new too I think.  The hose handle however has me wondering.  I think it would have to be at more of right angle to afford more comfort and ease for pushing like Oreck.
 
Anyway -- they really look cool.  Hope a couple versions -- with power nozzles of course -- make it this way.

Very innovative floor and rug tool design, and wand release.  The swiveling floor/rug tool neck uses channels and tubing rather than flexible dirt path hosing.  This design and operation replicates the HOOVER Slider.  2000 Watts (that's about 2.5 HP).  Almost 2X as many Watts as the USA Miele's.  Bagged with HEPA.  Looks sleak and easy to maneuver.  Perhaps the trend in new canisters (cylinders) is to stay with bags (rather than bagless).

BTW, I was trying to figure out just how old is the flexible hose usage in rug and floor tools in the US vacuum industry.  I think I did.  For the old-timers I think it started with HOOVER in the Constellation model 82 in the early 50's.  And the tool used the same hose as the flexible attachment Constellation hose except smaller.  Constantly broke and came out.  Still it was innovative for 55 plus years ago.

You think so?  I don't.  There is easy and quick access to the inside of the swivel neck and dirt path with ample room to work.  A User can do it.  No need for a repair technician.  You can see up and down the dirt path and reach all the way into it from both sides.  A small brush on a flexible wire/plastic handle is all that's needed.  Or just a simple connection to the tool neck and blow it out with air.  A few seconds of light duty work.
 
Unlike a vacuum by-pass hose which requires dismantling of vacuum housing for access and work room to both sides.  This is also a straight suction rug/floor tool.  Light and easy to work on.  Not a power head nozzle that's weighty and has electrical connections, gaskets and seals with clearances and restricted access.  And no worry sticking a sharp object into the flexible hose to clear blockages and snagging and or puncturing.  Which requires repair person's skills.  IMHO.  First rule:  KISS: Keep it simple and simpler.

Well JD, we respectively disagree on this matter of blockages and the ease to clean and clear.  Not surprising in the least.
