As part of the "Spring" advertising campaign expect to see the HOOVER FUSION at Wal-Mart advertised for $128.88 with the claim: NO LOSS OF SUCTION.

BEST BUY premiers the new HOOVER Elite this week in its newspaper ads.  Just in time for Spring and Mother's Day.

Also on sale the dyson DC07 for $399 and take another $30 off.  This has been an in store sale but finally gets advertised.  Unfortunately no more dyson car care kit.  Ended yesterday.  Maybe it will be extended?

In the BEST BUY ad for dyson, the verbage: "Never loses suction" is conspicuously absent.  Noted the same for other dyson ads (DC14) by other retailers.

HOOVER gets the premier ad space in the Sunday Parade compliments of Home Depot.  The HOOVER Floor Matic w/o the attachments is advertised for $169.  This model has 6 spin scrub brushes and a 13 inch floor nozzle rather then the 7 spin scrub brushes and 15 inch nozzle on the H-3060-020 (top of the line).

BEST BUY also has a HOOVER Floor Matic for sale but the model with the revolving brush for $139.

I believe Linen n Things and Target stores are offering the $100 Gift Cards too on the purchase of any dyson during the month of May.  This must be what Jim B referred to as creative marketing several months ago when he talked about future dyson pricing.

This makes back to back monthly sales specials by dyson: April with the Free Car Kit ($84.99) and May with the $100 Gift Card (retailers' incentives).

Do the vacuum independents and internet sellers who carry dyson vacuums suffer by these special big box retail deals?

My opinion on this is that the dealers can turn this into a positive situation for them, its just a question of who wants to make the money, if a prospect is shopping around for the best price on a dyson,if the local independent can match or do a little better why wouldnt the customer buy from the professional vacuum stores.

The big box stores do all the advertising and the local dealers make the money.

sounds like a good deal to me.........

Hi Old-Timer,

How does online buying factor into the mix?  If I were to buy a Dyson, Miele, etc., at suggested prices, I definitely would not make the purchase from a local vendor due to sales tax here (8.375%).

I just checked online and, if I wanted, I can the DC-15 "Ball" for $499 or the DC-15 "Animal" for $534.  Both would be delivered to my door at no charge AND -- no sales tax.

As long as ground shipping costs are low, I'd buy at best price from an out-of-state vendor.  It saves a heck of a lot of money.

Local vendors in my area are not much inclined to bargain as overhead is generally high by way of rent alone.

Regards,

Venson

Hi Venson, I knew sooner or later this would come up, We have both on line and retail locations, when a customer buys from us online, the carrier usually ups or fed ex, takes the merchandise from us to the customer, the customer is responsible for any taxes, were based in a state that has no sales tax. Its a huge advantage for us.Plus we dont gouge people on shipping.
