You may want to save your faith until you give the Z a test run. The Hoover Z is a sign of extreme negligence on the part of Hoover management. I have no doubts that the Z in its current form is a disaster. It is the most awkward vacuum I have ever used .

Hi RAT, we all like to root for our favorite brands, but as Carmine says a dud is a dud no matter who makes it. At the risk of loosing my job i will say the following,I remember a great u.s.a. vacuum company, known for canisters, on the verge of being sold off, the biggest piece of junk they ever made was introduced to the vacuum market. It took almost 7 years to recover from it, although the new owners were stuck with the headache.

If I'm right you are referring to the Rennaisance. The motor I am told was the problem. When Joe Urso came in he said changes for the better would be made in the product line and we would regain our leadership and lead the industry like we used to. I am not gaging leadership in market share but putting forth better quality and innovations. I have seen so much change in the last 50 years . I saw what the company can do when change is needed and saw what poor management can do.
Aerus still has a good set of engineers looking to make great products. There are going to be rough spots but the company has been doing pretty good over the last three years in improving sales and adding product.

The company has turned it around as of late. T he machine was never field tested before offering it to the general public, only some SPECIAL buddy branches had it under another model. old-timer
