Review of Bissell 3910 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
A Vacuum Cleaner that needs to be RECALLED
Jan 22 '07
Pros
Good suction and easy to empty container
Cons
Tips over just about on its own. Very impractical if you use the attachment
I purchased this vacuum at Sam's. This vacuum cleaner tips over when you use the attachments. The suction of the attachment pulls it right over. You have to prop or hold it up when using the attachment. If you don't it will fall over and bang up your walls, furniture, or your head. A small baby could grab onto the attachment hose and pull it on his head easily. I am calling Bissell and Consumer affairs to have this product removed from the market. It could hurt an elderly person using it or even hurt a small pet if his foot got tangled in the cord. Suctions is fine but I would not recommend this product to anyone! You can literally push the vacuum cleaner over with your pinky finger.
What were these people thinking?
2. From Amazon .com on a BISSELL 5770 Healthy Home Bagless Upright Vacuum
Returned after 2 days of use , November 18, 2006 one Star
I rarely write on Amazon about anything but this vacuum made me change my mind. I purchased mine at a national chain after reading the only review I could find on the web - the one I saw at Amazon.
I *love* Bissell and got a bagless vacuum a few years ago that has been going strong but when a 30% coupon arrived I just could resist and went out to buy this vacuum.
It is very, very quiet. It did pick up a lot that my older Bissell apparantley has been missing.
But:
The handle is very heavy compared to my other Bissell and it was tiring to push the vacuum on wood floors and very thin-pile carpet.
The collection cup is much messier and more difficult to empty than my old Bissell.(lying) It was not hands free at all. The old cup was a quick wrist-flip to dump out. This one requires pushing a button that opens the bottom of the filter - only the button on my vacuum stuck and I had to pull it with my hands. Yuch!
The kicker was when I vacuumed my steps. The long reach cord is the same on all Bissell - don't think this is so much longer than the other vacuums. I vacuumed my stairs,
leaving the cleaner at the top. It toppled over and all the way down when I was on step #4. Maybe I should have put the vacuum at the bottom but with my old Bissell that wasn't necessary.
Did I mention the on/off switch is near the top of the handle? It is also very sensitive and the slightest touch will turn the vacuum off/on. Annoying!
The tumbling episode and the heavy handle convinced me to return this while I had time. It looks like a Dyson and vacuums very well. But the negatives totally outweighed any positives.
Can you imagine an actually person with a brain putting a vacuum at the top of the stairs to vacuum. I hope that this person doesn't drive, can you imagine this person behind the wheel of a car.
I Pesonally Own this And Will Be post a review Shortly This Vacuum comes with a 14' hose And telscoping wand And Use 9 Cyclones to separte the dirt from the air .
Has any one eles noticed the lack of commom sense from consumer and the they blame everyone but their selve for their stupidity.
