No doubt that low price will sell the most.  That does not equate to the best vacuum being sold.

OLD-TIMER

I was at Best Buy the other day and all of the bagless vacuums were absolutely filthy.  With the exception of the Dysons, the filters were caked in filth.   Even the Dyson's looked filthy with the dirty bins.  
 
Even though the Dyson's don't clean as well as some other vacuums, I can see why many bagless vacuum customers would choose to spend more and buy a Dyson rather than deal with emptying a competing model with far less sanitary dirt collection system.  
 
 
 

Cull?  The Dyson's portion of the run is larger than ever in Best Buy and average price points are still higher than early this year.  
Some company's runs may still be the same models as two years ago at the same or lower average price points, but it would not seem something to brag about.

You and others can disagree just as you did when I said the DC11 wasn't worth $500, and the DC07 was dropped from BEST BUY, and the DC15 sales were so poor at BEST BUY that dyson would have to lower prices.

I'm 3 for 3.  When the DC15 is dropped by BEST BUY, I'll be 4 for 4 and when the DC14 is left, I'll be 5 for 5.
 
You can argue with the facts but don't expect to change them.
