Isn't it a shame that Hoover doesn't have beater bars anymore?
Are you sure? Check out the HOOVER Windtunnel bagged canisters sold at many of the big box retailers and club stores. The power heads come with metal agitators, metal beater bars and replaceable brush strips. Power heads with brush rolls worthy of being called "agitators." (See the features explained in the site below). And still by HOOVER.

I think these nozzles have plastic rollers, but the Website doesn't show if the PN's have metal agitators, beater bars & replaceable bristles. I don't know why Eureka doesn't make the VG3 rollers for the old style & World Vac PNs, but they should b/c it's = Hoover Quadraflex (forgot that Hoover redesigned the Quadraflex on their current vacs) or maybe better? The quadraflex is the best brush ever made, 2nd is the VG2 & VG3

The bagged HOOVER WT canister MADE IN THE USA in North Canton Ohio uses a power nozzle with the old style metal HOOVER agitator, with metal beater bars and replaceable brush strips. The HOOVER bagless WT canister's power nozzle uses the same brush roll as the HOOVER WT uprights: hard plastic. A good performing brush roll but not an agitator with beater bars and replaceable brush strips.

Metal agitators/brushrolls are not on HOOVER power nozzles. If they are, could you give me the model #?

You are right. As is Tri-star vacman. The new S3639 uses a one piece brush roll and calls it an agitator brush. I suspect it's no longer made in the USA, in North Canton, Ohio as the same models were several years ago.

There needs to be improvements with the Eureka & Hoover PNs like using cogged belts instead of flat & a Reset switch in case the user picks up a foreign object (rug gets caught on brush) b/c they're now outdated (esp. Hoover & Eureka World Vac series) since they don't have METAL rollers & replaceable bristls & beater bars.

Hi,
To the best of my knowledge no. There's not much of an advantage in it say in contrast to being able to adjust motor speed and reduce suction. However, if memory serves me correctly, back in the day Electrolux did offer a standard brush roll and a softer version for "museum quality" carpets.

The two speed power nozzles were on the top model Kenmore(Panasonic) canisters w/electronic touchpad controls. Some of the TOTL Kenmore uprights will also have the agitator speed control.
Kenmore called this feature Gentle Sweep. What it would do is slow the agitator/brushroll down. This would mean that the brushroll would be less agressive on carpeting.
