Hi Venson, Probaly not a bad idea if they go to some high impact plastic. The die cast housimgs have no real use anymore in household applications, They could keep the tech drive and lighten the machine up considerly.
and the weight problem that most customers complain about would go away.Kirby has and does use plastic compnents in some real critical areas, Take a look at the deflector in the fan caes on the G series machines.
Also the aluminum fan case is much less prone to pitting when the machine is used in the shampoo mode.I literally have to use an impact gun to get the screws out the fan case.
They have been using plastic motor housings for a long time now.
I have seen some renditions of the supposed new design on another site.
