Dyson vacuum & other vacuum related videos & photos...
Original Message   Nov 22, 2007 12:23 am
1)  Nov 21, 2007 James Dyson t.v. commercial parodied on Saturday Night Live.

2)  March 17, 2009:  While many independent vacuum dealers bad-mouth, lie of and/or dismiss James Dyson and his teams contributions, many others champion the man.  Watch James Dyson in his element - in his Malmesbury Headquarters.  NBC’s “Today Show”  http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-us&vid=71fa9222-10d2-413c-bf31-0007895697ac

2)  Older video news:  I could not resist...  A Hottie car-news chick mentions the rumor of Dyson working with car makers, and Oreck gets a mention too (funny).

Hello HARDSELL:

Good to know that your memory is s-l-o-w-l-y coming back again.  My brilliance however must have impaired your reading skills.  So I quoted the Oreck ad here:

Offer valid through 5/28/08. Free Shipping applies to Standard Shipping only within the continental US. (Does not apply to Express Shipping.) There is a $25.00 additional charge for delivery to Alaska and Hawaii, a $50.00 additional charge for delivery to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and a $75.00 additional charge for delivery to Guam.

Continental doesn't mean European breakfast here.  It means contiguous.

I did not read any fine print because I had no intention of paying $150 or more for an electric broom.

Hello HARDSELL:

You can't read.  Your memory is bad.  What am I going to do with you?  I don't know whether I should pity you and/or adopt you.  Not much of a choice.

What good to provide proof?  First you deny it.  Then you don't read it.  Then you argur about it.  You're wasting time.

Tell me why dyson wants people to touch their toes to wrap a cord on the DC24 but writes in his autobiography that he doesn't want users bending down to fiddle with controls?  What's the difference?  Down is down.

Tell me why I have to get on my knees to turn off the brush roll on my Royal.  Why do I have to disassemble my Kirby to use the hose.  Why doesn't Oreck add a hose so the user does not have to dig out the 2nd vac then store an additional vacuum.  BTW, I hear reports that the little vac has a very small bag that has to be replaced too frequently.  A friend has one and it barely picks up dust off her wood floor.

I never noticed the Dyson cord being any more difficult to wrap than any other. I wonder why you wise guys did not mention that you do have to bend double to turn off the brush roll on the Dyson.  Disregarding that it is still mucheasier to use than an Oreck (I guess I mean two Orecks).  Is it any wonder the hotels never vacuum the baseboards or any other item requiring a hose.

HARDSELL:

Follow me here.  DC24 not DC07.  Have to bend down and touch your toes to wrap the cord.  Despite Mr. Dyson's pledge in his autobiography spouted here by all the dyson fans like you that dyson users will never have to bend over to fiddle with controls.  How do you and they reconcile the glaring contradiction?  Simple question.  Anyone have an answer relevant and worthy to post?

James states in his autobiography that he decided against adding a cord winder to the DC01 upright since they could be unreliable.

Based on a off-forum discussion with DIB and to answer claims that Dyson copied 'the ball' invention from somebody else, I'd like to share a short video clip showing the development process of this feature on the DC15 :-

Hello M00seUK:

I think he doesn't because its one more thing to go wrong.  More and more big box store vacuums have cord winders.  Even inexpensive models like the HOOVER Elite Rewind: $100, which is 3 years old now.  I mentioned my HOOVER cann for $50 has a cordwinder.  No problems with it.  It's a small vacuum and having the cord stowed away is wonderful for using and storing.

Now, you still haven't answered my question.  How do you and other dyson fans reconcile the statement in Mr. Dyson's autobiography with the gawdawful cord wraps on the DC24?  No bending over to fiddle with controls is the dyson mantra.  What happend on the DC24 bottom cord wrap?
