Picking the picture

So you know the size and type of TV you would like...but how to choose from the wall of TVs at your local retail store? The actual picture you see is not necessarily what you will see when it is installed in your home. The high lighting and brightness adjustments make a wise choice deceiving. A helpful salesperson might be able to get the house lights on the screen dimmed, or at least help you shade the screen.

An enterprising salesperson can also help you play one of your own DVDs brought from home, to judge the best picture the TV can produce.

Play with the presets. The TV may have some presets for sports or movies. Try them out for the best picture.
