Sidekick 3
The Sidekick public was holding its breath for the new Sidekick 3 this summer, but actual delivery left many under impressed.
It’s slimmer than #2 at just over five inches by two and a third inches by a scosh under one inch. There are a ton of intuitive controls including a cursor pad, trackball and buttons galore. There is a flip up screen (240 x 160) that exposes the mini keyboard comprised of keys that are very easy to type on. The user friendly interface hasn’t changed and neither has the main email and IM features that allow you to view jpeg and mp3 attachments, but not save them.
Sidekick 3 has a better camera resolution than previous iterations and tacks on an MP3 player. The player is pretty stripped down. You put your playlist on the mini secure digital card and listen away…as long as the format is mp3. Sorry, no WMA or AAC files make that list. If you need a very usable IM and email device, this one might be for you.
