Black & Decker’s Electric Blower/Vac/Mulch Leaf Hog BV2500 quickly ramps up to 200 mph of air power to move leaves and other light lawn debris along. Ten bags of leaves that are run through the vacuum/mulching operation of the BV2500 are reduced to a single BV2500 bag. Blowing speed adjusts, by means of a slide switch, from 150 to 200 mph, and the mulcher blade is designed to allow acorns and twigs to pass through into the bag, too. Like all electric blower/vacs, the BV2500 is lower in vibration than similarly powered gasoline models. The 12-ampere motor requires a 14-gauge extension cord for effective use—and use of an undersized cord with any frequency will wear out the motor early. The 7.1-pound BV2500 holds two bushels of mulched leaves in its bag. Decibel rating is a moderate 62 dB on the A scale. A pushbutton release helps convert the Leaf Hog quickly from vacuum to blower.
