Can you expand on why it wouldn't be suggested......looked like they probably both have the same 4 bolt layout hooking to the frame......and I had heard the pulley layouts were similiar?

TORO 624 SNOWBLOWER ENGINE REPLACEMENT

I wondered how dificult it would be to replace an engine on a Toro 624 Snowblower....I found one that has a blown engine (think it is a 6HP Tecumsh) and I have an MTD that has a good 8HP Tecumsh engine (but problems with other components) and was wondering how hard it would be to swap the 6hp out and put the 8hp on?
thanks,

MTD Reassembly

I have a 1995 MTD 8hp snowblower - Model 315e640f013. I had torn the machine apart to replace an Auger, but when I put it back together the auger pulleys seem to be rubbing tight against the box frame. The only parts that I saw was the pulley adapter that wen directly against the bearing ( with the bearing sitting flat, but when you tighten the pulleys down they seem to get too tight and rub against the frame? I know its probably something simple but I also noticed the belts appear to not roll right as well? thanks for any suggestions.

MTD Auger Replacement

Any suggestions on how to replace an Auger on an MTD Snowblower about 10 yrs old? I removed the side screws as well as the 2 spring pins that were in the shaft going back from the impeller to the engine, but it did not slide out - I sprayed it with lubricate but didn't know if I should try heating it up or there were other suggestions on how to get the pieces apart so that I can slide the auger off and replace it?
