I just replaced both Belts on a toro 521. Is the finger ( Bar) that sitts to the side of the Pully off the Engine for both belts just a Guard ? Or is it supposed to keep tension on the Belt Or Belts?

Toro 1987 521. What Type of lube for the gearbox -Wormgear ?

Is the gearbox supposed to use a 90 Weight oil or grease? I took the plug out expecting to be a 90 Weight oil and it looks lie it is grease in there ? To my confusion I looked at a manual for the Toro Powershift and this is what it stated.. Lubrication is supplied by an SAE 90 weight extreme pressure (EP) gear oil with an API rating of GL-5 or GL-6. This is necessary because of the temperatures and pressures provided by a worm helical gear arrange- ment. Do not use Lubriplate(R) Mag 1 grease in the auger gear box
