Hello all, I'm looking to by a my fist snowblower. I'm tossed up between a Simplicity I1224E($1066CAD) and an Ariens Compact 24($999CAD). Both have good ratings. I have local dealer support for both. The Simplicty has a larger engine. Both have B&S engines. Now I could also look at a Ariens Deluxe 24 for $1200CAD but don't really want to to pay the extra money. Any recommendations?? I just checked both of them out on the website and they have very similar spec's. I'd suggest you go and play around with both and see which one feels more comfortable. As far as price goes, a few extra $$$'s either way is not going to make a big difference over the life of the machine. Try a few others and go for the one that YOU feel fits you best, regardless of the additional cost. JMHO

Like already stated try not to worry about the extra money for the rite machine. This machine is going to last you for years and years! Do it rite the first time! Or trust me you will be sorry! Good luck!

At my local HD's I see the Compact 24 for CA$999 and the Deluxe 24 for CA$1129 or CA$1132 on the web order sign in the store.  I think the Deluxe is a much better value for that little difference even if you have to add sixty bucks shipping. Maybe try to get HD to match Rona's Saturday scratch & save event, even for just the minimum 10%.

Bigger motor, impeller and auger etc. If you choose to go with 24" Ariens, pick the Deluxe IMO.
