Stens vs OEM Ariens friction wheel.
Original Message   Nov 8, 2010 11:16 am
I need to replace the friction wheel on my 924050 and was wondering about using Stens instead of the OEM Ariens part.  I thought I had read on here in the past to stay away from aftermarket friction wheels (possibly by Snowman), but since Stens is owned by Ariens I was wondering if their replacement would be equivalent to the Ariens part.  Anyone use a Stens friction wheel and have any problems?

Brandon, as of the last year or so, the Ariens replacement 00300300/00170800 Stens friction disks are made by Ariens. In this particular case, the Stens part will be identical to the Ariens OEM service part. Just make sure the part you buy hasn't been sitting on the shelf at a dealer for a few years or you'll get an import part.
