Terrapin's thread gave me this thought:

Many find that they lost their plastic key. A piece of cardboard, popsicle stick, or matchbook cover can be inserted in there. All it does is keep two metal contacts from touching one another, which would ground out the ignition. Home Depot stocks Tecumseh keys if you need a replacement. WHEW! Busy 3 days for me. More later guys & gals!
