NWS Will be issuing Blizzard Watches and Warning shortly. Accuweather has upped snowfall potential for Southern New England areas to 12-24", with possible 60 mph gusts, and thunder and lightning.

Yikes!    You're right.   I checked the National Weather service site after reading this thread.  For my area southwest of Boston:

"Saturday Night...Snow...Heavy at Times. Snow accumulation of 10 to 18 inches by daybreak. Very windy with blizzard conditions possible. Lows around 20. Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph...Increasing to north 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph after midnight.

Sunday...Snow likely in the morning...Then becoming partly cloudy. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet. Very windy with highs in the lower 20s. North winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph."

Blizzard warning here now with 10-21" predicted. That is quite a spread. Temperature right now is -15 F.

North winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 50 mph...Becoming northwest 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon. Wind chill readings as low as 15 below in the morning.

        Okay, so now it's time for my  question.........  Should I wait until the storm's over-or go out in the middle of it ?  I have a Toro 1128OE that I bought last year.  I'm retired,and have all the time in the world to clear my driveway,but I'm wondering if the Toro will handle it if I wait until the storm is over.   I live south of Boston, five miles south of  Gillette stadium, home of the New England Patriots.         I'm leaning toward waiting,just because it's supposed to be so darn cold and windy.

I don't know about others,but I'm bringing the snowblower up near the house and covering it with a tarp. The shed is about 100 feet from the back door,and I don't relish the idea of trudging through deep snow and shoveling to clear the doors. Plus, if It's hard starting, I only have to use the 20 foot cord for the electric start. 

im not to far from you. im in needham. i plan on waiting for the storm to stop then go out and tackle the beast. no reason to keep going in and out. the only thing i might go for a couple of times will be where the snowplows build up in front of the driveway.

Now saying  18-24" with Thundersnow tonight. Could be biggest storm in at least 10 years. Maybe rival the Great 78.

I was supposed to take my youngest toboganing north to Cleveland, but that was cancelled due to the weather there.  They are suppossed to get upto 12 in along with the high winds and cold temps tomorrow.  Not good for a 5 year old (let alone a 45 year old)
