Rug stuck in snowblower
Original Message   Mar 1, 2009 10:04 am
I got a long carpet stuck in my snowblower.  Its a toro power max 826 LE.

I disconnected the spark plug and tunrned the key off.

I tried hacking it out with utility knife.

I'm wondering if there is a better way ?

Any help would be appreciated

I'm trying to avoid chopping any body parts off   ; )

Thanks for your help

-Jay

If the rug is nylon you can melt it with muratic acid...(eye dropper full will melt a 1 1/2 square foot ) ...  just melt the jammed area as needed..

Muratic acid is just cheap pool acid....

If it is real far,you might want to take the chute off.You might also want to remove the belt for the auger, that might help free it up a little. That happened to me a few years back,i drained all my gas and burned it out with a propane torch. But that is not safe and i would not suggest it except as a final resort.Hope this info helps, goodluck.

I did this with a tarp a while back. Take the auger assembly out.

Thank You for all the ideas.   I'll give it a shot.     I think I actually have some muratic acid. We have 12 inches of snow coming tonight, so I better get cracking.

Thanks again  -Jay
