Hour Meters On Ebay
Original Message   Jan 14, 2005 4:32 pm
    All'

Any one looking for an hour meter that runs off you spark plug, check Ebay # 4349110750.

The seller has 10 left at  $6.99 each, plus $2.50 shipping.

If you buy more than 1 shipping is 2.50 + 1.50 for each additional.

Ends in 6 hours + !

I bought 2.                                                            Fred

,

Received my 2 hour meters  today.

The hour meter is called, "Maintenance Minder", made by Briggs and  Stratton.

I installed it in 5 minutes. started her up, timed it with a stop watch, at 6 minutes, time read 1/10. Right on!

Red wire wraps around sparkplug wire 4 times, other wire (white) goes to engine as a ground.

Pecanwill, check out:   www.becoparts.com, they have the timers for $11.95 each plus shipping

Hello all -- I was home today and hooked up my Maintenance Minder Hour Meter. Nothing......Looks as if the battery might be dead. I'm going to call the vendor tomorrow, but generally, if ya wrap the lead around the plug wire, and ground the other lead, I figure it should work.

Do these things have a battery?

What is a good choice if you want to tune the governor for optimal RPM's? Or can you use automtive equipment?

 Gman,

I bought a Vibratach(Sirometer) from, M and D Small Engines, for about $18.50 including shipping.

Its made in Germany, under the name of  TREYSIT.

Do a Google search on both. It is non electrical!!!

Tested it against a  $15,000.00 Shop Tach, differed by 10 RPM's.

I consider that pretty accurate for a less than$20.00 tach!!!

Hope this helps you on your GREAT project!!!

Great lead.

It's called TACHOMETER - 19200 on the B&S website.

The home page is at:  http://www.treysit.com/TREYSIT_Presserei_Schwalmstadt/Sirometer/sirometer.html

"It is checked and certified by the Federal Standards Laboratory in Braunschweig, germany and indicates with a tolerance of 1-2% a sufficient accuracy for the usual measurements."

There's an outfits selling them on eBay for $20.50 but the shipping was lower than B&S so I bought i tthere.
