What brand is that?

It looks like the Troy-Bilt Polar Blast.

I believe you are correct.  It's made by MTD (of course) and I've seen them as Troy Bilts, Cub Cadets, perhaps others.  Funny you should post this; I was just hefting one around at Lowes this afternoon.  Big, rugged machine with cheezy coiled-wire-in-plastic-slots chute rotation control.  Fortunately, they have "easy steer."  BTW, Lowe's price was $2059, lowest I've seen for one of those new.

It would be awkward to use for my driveway.  Another thing is that the intake is 45" but the engine is the same 13hp engine that Cub CAdet uses on their 33" wide machines.

You would.  But then again Toro used to make a 32" wide machine with 7 hp if memory serves me correctly.

That probably depends on the driveway....200-300 foot long ? Maybe somewhere where plowing wouldnt work well if it piles up quickly?

You have to look at where it was being used. Its a house out in the country. Most of the clearing was done with a big blower on the back of a farm tractor. The 45" was used for "clean up". As far as power is concerned it looks like it can chug through a good amount of snow and still make it go some where else far away.
